Holly Cottage, Hagworthingham, Horncastle, Lincolnshire
Holly Cottage is an intriguing mixture of a small period cottage and stylish contemporary architect-designed extensions over 3 floors, which creates a property of much character. It sits in a lovely position, nestling on a valley side right at the end of the village of Hagworthingham, close to the ford and is surrounded by beautiful quiet and unspoiled countryside. There are many lovely walks from the door, both long and short, and the terrain is not the flat landscape that most people believe Lincolnshire to be but is gently or more steeply undulating.
The attractive village of Hagworthingham is in the South East corner of the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the far-reaching views are superb. There is a good pub in the village along with two cafes and a farm shop and butchery. This is great walking and cycling country. Access East to the coast is easy and the historic cathedral city of Lincoln is not too far to the West. There is motor racing at Cadwell Park, horse racing at Market Rasen and many interesting avaition heritage museums are to be found in the area. The market towns are characterful and antiques emporiums abound.
Holly Cottage has two doubles and a twin room and single occupancy is welcomed. All rooms are en suite. The guest area may also be rented as self-catering accommodation at certain times, sleeping up to six people. The grassy hillside garden is a tranquil place to sit and this is a perfect base to come for work in the area, a short B&B break or longer B&B or self-catering holidays.
