The Old School House offers charming guest house accommodation near the centre of Haltwhistle. Based in a lovely area of Northumberland, we are ideal for a tranquil holiday.

We have an array of completely refurbished and comfortable bedrooms to choose from. The spacious rooms include 1 ground-floor double, 1 twin, 1 first-floor twin/double, 1 superior twin and 1 single bedroom.

All our rooms included a range of facilities for a relaxing stay: cable/satellite TV, Wi-Fi, tea and coffee-making facilities, hair dryer, linen, towels and an en suite or private bathroom.

You can start the day with our wonderful breakfast, including a Border breakfast with haggis, a full cooked breakfast or vegetarian. All our ingredients are homemade and locally sourced whenever possible. We also make our bread where possible. Cereals, porridge, fruit and yoghurt are all available.

After a busy day sightseeing, relax in the communal lounge. We also have secure storage for bikes and a range of bicycle repair and cleaning equipment.

Our guest house is close to Hadrian's Wall and Pennine Way long-distance footpath, making us a great base for exploring the area. Within easy walking distance, there are shops, places to eat, bus stops and a railway station.

Grange Farmhouse is a 17th century and Georgian farmhouse, situated in Lower Walton. The bed and breakfast accommodation consists of two large bedrooms in the Georgian part of the house. Both guest rooms are en suite and can accommodate a third small bed, if required.

The accommodation is not suitable for persons who are unable to climb stairs or who are allergic to animals. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Off street parking is available (one per room). Guests are welcome from any race, faith and sexual orientation.

Room 1.
This large guest room can be used as either a double (6 feet) or twin bedded room. A third small convertible bed is available, if required. The en suite facilities consist of a large shower, toilet and hand basin. Windows look out over the front and rear garden.

Room 2.
This large guest room can be used as either a double (5 feet) or twin bedded room. A third small convertible bed is available, if required. The en suite facilities consist of a shower, toilet and hand basin. Windows look out over the front garden and the drive.

All bed and breakfast rooms contain a television, hair dryer, small fridge, kettle and tea / coffee making equipment and a radio alarm clock (not Room 3). Room 1 also has a small microwave oven. Rooms 1 and 2 are in the elegant Georgian frontage.

They are not located near the sea front but are ideally situated for easy access to the A14 to explore the whole area.

Buses stop opposite for travel into Felixstowe Town, Trimley and Ipswich, via Ipswich hospital. For real ale enthusiasts, the bus stops at both the Fat Cat and the Dove Street Inn, two of Ipswich's best outlets.

Stephen and Liz both have extensive knowledge of both current and historic sites in the area and will be pleased to advise. They also possess many books on Suffolk, which they are happy to lend during your stay.

Allanfauld Farm is a family-run bed & breakfast near the town of Kilsyth, deep in the heart of the Scottish countryside in Cumbernauld, Lanarkshire. They offer comfortable and relaxing accommodation on a working beef and sheep farm, ensuring an unforgettable holiday experience.

There are 3 cosy rooms available in the farmhouse: 1 single room, 1 double room and 1 family room. The rooms have TV and tea/coffee making facilities.

The Garden house is a little piece of luxury situated in the garden at Allanfauld, looking out to the hills beyond Kilsyth. It can comfortably sleep two, either a twin or a double, and has a double sofa bed for a further two people if required. It is comfortable and cosy and includes a shower room, kitchen facilities and a lounge room. The Lodge is available as a self catering unit, or alternatively, breakfast can be provided in the farmhouse. The Garden House is open all year round, so please get in touch to check availability.

Both Glasgow and Stirling are a 20 minute drive away. Croy Train Station is two miles away, where a short train journey will take you into the centre of Glasgow, Edinburgh or Stirling. There is local access to a wide range of activities and facilities such as a swimming pool, a rock-climbing hotspot, golf courses, hill walking, fishing and many other tourist attractions, such as Stirling Castle, The Colzium Estate and The Antonine Wall. The starting point for The West Highland Way is located in Milngavie, only a 30 minute drive away.
