Of six available rooms, four are standard double or twin, two are superior king-size rooms - one with a four-poster bed and double shower and one with a whirlpool bath and separate shower.

The guest lounge on the ground floor is available all day. Breakfast is served in the spacious dining room, also on the ground floor. Breakfast is offered from the menu, which includes traditional full English. Guests can also choose from a variety of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, juices, toast and preserves. The Old Forge has been awarded an AA rosette each year for the last seven years for culinary excellence and has been graded 4 star by the AA for accommodation. A 2014 Tripadvisor certificate of excellence has also been awarded.

The Old Forge has been run by owners Colin and Sarah for the last twenty years. It is a building full of character with the original oak beams in the 14th century part of the building. These beams are mainly in the bedrooms and are a fabulous feature of the accommodation.

Colin uses all local seafood from local fisherman along the coast. Beautiful local lobsters, Cromer crab, mussels and oysters cooked in his own unique style. Meat dishes are available if you don't feel fishey.

The Old Forge is centrally located to all the main beaches and attractions of North Norfolk. It is based in Thursford which is famous world wide for it's Christmas Extravaganza every year. It is a perfect place to stay and eat if you are going to the show as it is two minutes away.

The picturesque Georgian town of Holt is a ten minute drive away. The beautiful sandy beaches of Holkham, Wells next the Sea and Cromer are only a fifteen minute drive away and the famous Pensthorpe Nature Reserve is five minutes away as featured on BBC's Nature Watch.

For the Royals of you, Sandringham can be reached in twenty minutes. So The Forge is ideally located for just about every taste. We offer three rooms, two double and one twin all of which are en-suite. We have free Wi-Fi and digital televisions in each of the rooms. Dogs are welcome.
