Steeped
in history, this magnificent Georgian coaching inn was named for the black
Greyhound on the family crest of Phillip Gell then owner of Hopton Hall and the
land on which the hotel was built. The Greyhound Hotel is still referred to
locally as the “Black Dog”.
The Greyhound Hotel is a perfectly located base for exploring the many attractions of the Derbyshire Peak National Park. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are a short drive away, Alton Towers 20 minutes and Gulliver’s Kingdom, The Heights of Abraham and Matlock Bath just around the corner.
Dine
in our beautifully refurbished brasserie restaurant and enjoy the log fire,
cask ales and fine wines.
