Lea Cottage can be found in the heart of Strontian in Argyll and offers beautifully appointed and luxurious guest accommodation that is ideal for those who want a relaxing break away. The house is in a slightly elevated position and sits in a lovely garden which is populated by innumerable songbirds. Guests can enjoy wonderful views of the nearby woodlands and Ben Resipole, the local Corbett mountain.
The house was completely rebuilt to high eco standards. It offers everything you want from modern guest accommodation, whilst still retaining many of the old characteristics which date back around 200 years. Guests will receive a warm welcome along with a high degree of luxury.
Breakfast is normally served from 8.00am to 9.15am, but if you need an earlier or later start, let the hosts know and they will try to accommodate you. They try to offer healthy food (to match the air around the accommodation). For example, fresh fruits and yoghurts are always available, even fresh strawberries from the garden may be on the menu in season. Bread is freshly home-baked. There is also a good choice for cooked breakfast; eggs in many ways, including scrambled with smoked salmon. The full breakfast has eight different items to choose from - enough to power you up the highest mountains around the accommodation.
A short stroll through the woods takes you to the Strontian Hotel, which boasts a bar and a restaurant with stunning views down Loch Sunart. Also in reasonable walking distance is the Kilcamb Country House Hotel also overlooking the Loch, with excellent food. There is a further restaurant within two miles and several more within 10-15 miles.
