There are twelve lovely bedrooms, all en suite, TV, pillows, sheets, all mod cons you see. And all suffused with that “away from it all” feeling.

Some bedrooms have lovely views of the town and the surrounding hills, and others look out over the fabulous hotel gardens. They have double rooms, family rooms, twin beds and single beds. They are all on the first or second floor and are reached from a fine Georgian staircase.

They use a wide range of local suppliers; we’re spoilt for them actually. What we aim to produce is modern, good pub food that is healthy, hearty, flavoursome and fresh and great value of course.

The Castle Hotel doubles as a traditional country pub and has three bar areas, each of which has either a log burner or open fire in the cooler months. All the bar areas can also be used for dining or drinking, as you prefer.

Bishops Castle is one of the most charming and unspoilt market towns in England with two real ale breweries and conveniently close to the medieval towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow. You are surrounded on all sides by the beautiful South Shropshire Hills, the Welsh borders and in the great walking countryside, there is something to suit all tastes in the area.

Arrival times usually 4 pm to 6 pm but other times can be met by prior arrangement. They ask guests to vacate by 10-15 am so that they can service the room.

In the mornings at 9 am, a cereal breakfast with tea and/or coffee is available followed by a cooked, breakfast made from high quality, locally farmed ingredients. Cereal breakfast only, with tea or coffee & toast can be served at 8.30 am in our homely dining room.

Off-street parking is available in the wide driveway and the house is only a four minute walk from the centre of the village where there is a good range of facilities, including several eating establishments for lunch and dinner. Mathewson’s car Auction Showrooms are a 3 minute walk a way. We are located 1.5 miles from The Great Dalby Forest so ideal for the “Concerts in the Forest”. Scarborough is only 13 miles and Whitby 22 miles as is York City.

Lakeside Hotel is in an ideal position on the Skegness front just two minutes walk from the town centre and all amenities.

There are a choice of en suite bedrooms available, on three upper floors consisting of single, double, twin and family suites, all of our rooms are en suite with showers although one of the superior rooms has a bath shower. There are three styles of rooms, standard, sea view and superior to which all standard rooms are at the rear of the hotel as are the family suites and single rooms. All sea view rooms are double and twin bedrooms. The superior rooms are double or can be made into twin rooms sea view rooms and are larger than the normal sea view rooms. All rooms have a TV, tea and coffee making facilities.

Take time to relax and have a coffee or snack in the spacious TV lounge or maybe something a little stronger in the snug bar area which is open from around lunchtime until late at night or you can go into the games room where you can play pool or have a game of darts.

Feel like a snack or something more substantial? Then choose from our all-day menu. The dining room caters for around 32 covers and they do their best to allocate guests their own table and reserve it for them during their stay.

There are two car parks at the hotel, the one at the rear of the hotel which can accommodate about 16 normal sized vehicles and 4 spaces on the front of the hotel which they like to reserve for disabled guests with wheelchairs or walking difficulties. The one at the rear is covered by an AMPR system.

The hotel is in a seafront position with views across the lake to the sea and still only a few hundred yards from the town centre and all amenities.

The beautiful sandy beaches of Holkham, Wells-next-the-Sea and Cromer are only a fifteen-minute drive away and the famous Pensthorpe Nature Reserve is five minutes away. The much-loved country retreat of the British Royal Family at Sandringham Estate can be reached within twenty minutes.
