Situated in an acre of gardens on the village outskirts, elevated above the East Lyn river, with fields and rugged moorland at the rear, making it one of the best locations in the area. It is a very quiet and rural setting.
From the house the Brendon Valley sweeps east to Malmsmead,
brought to fame by the book "Lorna Doone", and west to Watersmeet
then onward to the villages of Lynton and Lynmouth.
Ian and Sandra have gained a reputation for good
wholesome Devonshire cooking with many of the vegetables grown in the gardens
and were Highly Commended "For providing excellent food and service"
in the North Devon Good Food Awards 2003.
They take great pride in cooking and serving local meats,
seafood and game, including rabbit, pheasant, partridge, hare and venison.
Brendon house is licensed and has an excellent selection of good wines.
Brendon House is a "Country Guest House", with
five letting rooms, residents lounge and restaurant. It is small enough to be
warm, cosy and affordable, yet big enough to give all the comforts that many of
the larger establishments offer.
