Built in
the 1800s this charming stone-built building was originally a coaching house.
The Settle Bar is the oldest part of the building and still retains many
interesting original features which include an antique grandfather clock and
flagged stone floor. The bar is named for the large circular wooden settle,
which guests particularly like to sit cosily around before the stove on a
chilly evening, complete with a pint of Robinson’s ale.
On the
other hand, you may enjoy sampling our splendid home-cooked menu in the Lounge
Bar or our restaurant. Recipes at The Victoria Inn are prepared from fresh
local produce and vegetables from our own kitchen garden.
Our menu
is traditional, supplemented by daily specials, Sunday roasts as well as a
children’s menu. We have five en suite double bedrooms to let on a bed and
breakfast basis. The rooms are superbly maintained and include a colour television
as well as tea and coffee making facilities.
