Thornton-le-Dale
lies on the southern edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.
This
picturesque English village has a beck running alongside the main street. The
village stocks and market cross are still in existence on the small village
green, and from the bridge a splendid view of the thatched cottage can also be
seen next to Bridgefoot house.
Thornton-le-Dale
is one of the most charming villages in England offering spectacular walks and
views, whatever the season either in the village or nearby. Although only a
village, Thornton-le-Dale is well worth a visit for its interesting buildings,
pleasant walks beside the beck and many footpaths.
Thornton-le-Dale
lies between Pickering and Scarborough, Malton and Whitby and makes an ideal
touring base of the North York Moors and wonderful countryside and coast.
