www.thebandbdirectory.co.uk Trigony House Hotel, Dumfriesshire, Dumfries and Galloway

Standing in over four acres of secluded gardens and mature woodland, Trigony House Hotel started life as the Shooting Lodge for Closeburn Castle.

Now home to the Moore family, this fine Scottish Hotel combines the welcoming ambience of the best Country House Hotels in Scotland with the comfort expected of a much loved family home.

Mother and son team, Judy and Adam Moore established a reputation for their hospitality & cuisine using mainly local organic ingredients. This tradition is carried on by Adam & his Partner Jan, providing guests with a relaxed atmosphere in which they can fully enjoy exploring this beautiful part of Scotland.

Because of the age of the house the 10 hotel rooms are all very different from each other in size and layout but all enjoy their own character, and all have hand sprung mattresses with fine Egyptian linen and are individually furnished.

The larger of the hotel rooms have a small comfortable seating area and the Garden suite has its own conservatory. With comfort and relaxation in mind, a butler’s tray is supplied with homemade shortbread and real coffee, and the toiletries are made especially for the hotel by the Caurnie Soaperie at the Organic Herb Garden in Kirkintilloch.

Most of the rooms have views over the gardens and the Lowther hills to the east while others look over the Kier hills to the West. One of the rooms is at the back of the hotel and looks over the woodland which now covers an old Roman Fort.
