Elen's Castle Hotel, Dolwyddelan, Betws-y-Coed, Conwy, Snowdonia National Park

Elen's Castle Hotel, Dolwyddelan, Betws-y-Coed, Conwy, Snowdonia National Park

Elen's Castle Hotel was once an 18th Century coaching inn and originally part of the Earl of Ancaster's Welsh Estate. Today it provides a unique place to relax at the heart of the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales.

All rooms are en suite and several have baths as well as showers. Each room is well equipped and furnished.

To ensure a good night's sleep, all the beds are firm (so no roll-together!). Room service is available. There is a wood-burning stove in the bar.

A mouthwatering, delicious, home-cooked eating experience in an informal and friendly atmosphere in a historic building with views.

The hotel is in the centre of the village. Dolwyddelan stands at a natural and historical crossroads, at the foot of Moel Siabod – 2861 feet (872m), straddling the trout and salmon-rich Afon Lledr, a river, which winds its way through meadows and turbulent gorges northwards to join the Afon Conwy at Llyn yr Afanc.

They have won a Silver in the Green Tourism Awards which means they are carbon neutral for heating and hot water. There are also 2 electric car charging points - one for a Tesla and one for any type 2 electric vehicle.

The Castle is just 1 mile down the road, just outside the village centre, controls a commanding and awesome panorama and the views from the battlements are breathtaking; the Crimea Pass (Bwlch y Gorddinan) and the Moelwyn Mountains, towards Moel Siabod and away to the Denbigh Moors.
