Stags Head Hotel is in a lovely part Cumbria, conveniently located in the heart of Bowness-on-Windermere. You will find the hotel tucked away behind St Martin’s Church, in the oldest part of town. St Martin’s is the parish church of Bowness and is surrounded by a web of charming narrow lanes, which are known as Lowside, providing you of a feel of what life was like hundreds of years ago.
A hearty full English breakfast will set you up for the day, so you can take in some of the superb local walks and attractions on offer.
We are a popular place to visit for both residents and non-residents. The Stags Head operates a busy programme of music and entertainment with a late license every night, allowing residents to enjoy the lively and friendly atmosphere free of charge. The bar is extremely popular at weekends with residents and the locals alike, where you’ll find a mix of the best local DJs and music acts.
Bowness itself is home to a range of varied and interesting independent shops, boutiques, galleries and cafes that offers a great alternative to the usual high street. We’re only a stone’s throw away from Windermere which is the top tourist destination in the Lake District for good reason. One cannot appreciate its true beauty until you see it first hand, and as well as being a top spot for sightseeing is also a popular location for sailing and watersports.
