Dornoch
is famous for its golf courses, but it also has a lovely, long beach,
interesting shops, a small but interesting cathedral and good restaurants and
cafes.
Dornoch
is a good central place from which to explore the rest of the Northern
Highlands - the far northern towns of Wick and Thurso and the Castle of Mey are
easily visited in a day from Dornoch, returning at night for a comfortable stay
at Del Mar.
Trips
over to the west coast - even as far as the Isle of Skye are possible using
Dornoch as your base. And of course the
Black Isle and Inverness lie just a few miles south, with the battlefield of
Culloden a favourite attraction.
