The
house retains many of its original period features, is beautifully presented
and is furnished with a fine selection of antiques and pieces collected during
a lifetime of travel to various parts of the world.
Kathryn
extends a very warm welcome to her guests and offers a hearty breakfast made
using the best of locally sourced ingredients.
Budleigh
Salterton is a charming, unspoilt coastal town with a wonderful variety of
independent shops, art galleries, tea rooms and restaurants. Its famous pebble
beach is delightfully unspoilt and the South West Coast Path which runs both
east and west from here offers magnificent views of the Jurassic Coast, a World
Heritage Site.
Stoneborough
House is a short walk from the mouth of the River Otter whose banks are a haven
for birds and wildlife. The riverside walk from Budleigh to Otterton is a joy,
offering excellent views and bird watching opportunities. We would then highly
recommend a visit to Ottterton Mill with its famous bakery, restaurant and
craft shops.
The
fine regency town of Sidmouth is a short drive to the east and continuing in
this direction, Branscombe, Beer and Lyme Regis are worth visiting. To the
north and west we have the quaint little town of Topsham which is a must for
its location on the banks of the Exe, its history and its shops. Nearby there
is wonderful bird watching on the Exe Estuary and Darts Farm Shop offers an
enormous selection of food, gilts and much, much more!
