www.thebandbdirectory.co.uk Islington House, Wells, Somerset

Uniquely situated on the edge of the City of Wells (England's smallest City). Islington House Bed & Breakfast was built more than three hundred years ago, and given to the Church in Queen Anne's Bounty.

Adjacent to the magnificent Cathedral and The Bishop's Palace and Gardens the house has a lovely rural outlook over fields and parkland. St Andrews stream runs through the grounds.

Just a few minutes’ walk away passing the moated Bishop's Palace is the ancient Market Place which leads to the high Street where there is a varied selection of shops, restaurants, inns and eating places. Markets are still held every Wednesday (Farmer's Market) and Saturday throughout the year. There is a park, bowling green and children's playground just across the road. We also offer Tea and Coffee making facilities in all the rooms.

Wells is centrally situated 20 miles from the sea at Weston super Mare and Burnham on sea, and the same distance from historic Georgian Bath and Bristol. Taunton is 30 miles away. Longleat House and Safari Park, Stourhead Gardens, Glastonbury Abbey and Tor, Wookey Hole and Cheddar Caves are all nearby, as well as a number of National Trust properties.
